I was reading Paulo Coelho's "Like the Flowing River" and made a discovery -- of not what is new, but of, what is. Coelho's insights left me amazed. His works were simple, but the ideas were right on the money. In the mundane experiences of a drive, a conversation, an observation, the beauty of life reveals itself. But what I adore about this book was that the stories revolved around other people. Suddenly, the reality of an inspiration struck me. It's not merely the pure thoughts of a writer that makes him or her great. (Although that makes a big difference.) Moreover, it is how other people affect him -- most of the time, his wife. I will be someone's wife someday. And like Paulo Coelho's partner, I want to be his inspiration. I want our simple moments together to leave him realizing that life is indeed beautiful; that there is joy and grace in each passing day. And while we're at that, I would hope, at best, to share with him the strength to believe in that beauty. (:
